Lomé, a charming and welcoming city

Lome is the capital of Togo, a small peaceful country located in West Africa limited to the North by Burkina Faso, to the South by the Atlantic Ocean, to the East by Benin and to the West by Ghana. Togo covers an area of 56600 km2 with an estimated population of 7.5 million people.

Togo, member of ECOWAS (Economic Community of West Africa States) is a very peaceful and very safe country known for its attractiveness on all plans, its modernization and the great diversity of its landscapes.

Built on the coast, facing the blue waters of the Gulf of Benin, the city of Lomé is relaxed, harmonious and very welcoming. It is a city with hotels and modern infrastructure, offering a multitude of shops, restaurants, casinos, prosperous markets and lively nightclubs. With more than a million inhabitants, Lomé is the largest city of Togo.

The city of Lomé is a very African city in the sense where all styles, all traditions blend together. Its architecture includes small shops and charming villas, old colonial buildings and large estates with lush gardens, all framed by coconut trees and flowering shrubs. There are also many modern buildings and the headquarters of several major international organizations like the BOAD (West African Development Bank), ECOBANK and the magnificent building of the ECOWAS.

Lomé is the reflection of modernism and tradition, a mixture of a hint of European flavor and a good dose of Togolese culture.
